Our Story
In 1995, as a freshman in high school, Cesar Castillejos started hustling t-shirts in the stands at varsity football games. Selling t-shirts that looked illegally similar to those sold at Abercrombie & Fitch, Cesar found his place in clothing and sales. The t-shirt company folded and he moved on to selling lunch tickets and got a job at Sports Spree Fun Park, a local arcade and amusement paradise.
In college Cesar began spray painting stencils on shirts he purchased at thrift stores. “I wanted shirts that no one else could get.” He explains. “I didn’t think other people would actually want what I had. I just knew I had something they couldn’t get.”
After making custom shirts for a number of friends and strangers, Cesar decided to give the t-shirt game another shot. At first his desire was to make all one-of-a-kind pieces, hence the name “One of One Clothing Company.”
The name of the company stayed but the direction to a little turn. Instead of having a shirt that is one of one, Cesar wanted people to know they were one of one. The message he desired for people to hear became the tagline of the company, “Be who you are. There is no one like you. You are One of One.”
Our 1st and Only Brick & Mortar Store
In 2014 we partnered with local non-profit organizations and a middle school in Richfield, Minnesota to open a FREE clothing store for students in need. Teachers and counselors identify students who may be in need and tell their parents or guardians about The RMS Vault. The students get to go down to The Vault and shop for whatever they need.
"Digging through a box of dirty lost and found clothes never brought anyone dignity. We wanted to create a dignified shopping experience for students. We want the students to know that we see them and they matter."
